In an alternate-future metropolis, the biggest game show is
Survival Quiz City, where the inhabitants use their mind and body to compete for fame and fortune. Each round starts with a multiple-choice question. Be smart, but be quick: only so many people can answer correctly! Those who guess wrong or aren’t fast enough get dropped to an obstacle course while the winners shoot and bomb the losers, who must sprint and climb to the goal.
Competitors running the obstacle course try to collect coins while avoiding the onslaught from the winners, who earn coins for each hit on the losers. Make it to the end of the obstacle course to keep any winnings, then spend that collected cash in an interactive intermission on items that can increase speed, boost climbing stamina, and increase the winners’ firepower. This between-round lobby also has extra coins to collect, with more valuable currency in harder-to-reach spots.

Since starting his stable in 2014, Marcus Melander’s stock has taken off, aided by many talented trotters including his recently retired champion Gimpanzee alongside other horses waiting in the wings to return to the racetrack in 2021.
Gimpanzee, a now five-year-old son of Chapter Seven-Steamy Windows, wrapped his racing career with a 1:51.3 victory in the $500,000 Breeders Crown final before transitioning into his life as a stud, standing in Kentucky as part of moves by breeders to revitalize the burgeoning breeding program in the state.
“He was sharp all from the start, and all through the season,” Melander told
Trot Insider. “He was just an amazing racehorse. He was so easy on himself, always been a very sound horse of course. Nathalie [Norlander] had been taking great care of him over these last four years. The horse himself, he’s got great conformation; he stands good and all that. That’s very important, too. Then of course our training and everything, it worked
Ontario-sired pacing colt Tall Dark Stranger was named the 2020 U.S. Horse of the Year as part of the Dan Patch Annual Awards Banquet held virtually on Saturday (Jan. 16).
The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), the leading media organization in North American harness racing, has announced the winners of its Dan Patch Awards balloting for excellence exhibited among both equines and humans. The “best of the best” are normally honoured at the writers’ Dan Patch Annual Awards Banquet, but that event was cancelled this year due to the ongoing health crisis, so a special Virtual Awards show was broadcast Saturday.

Courant Inc and SRF Stable, harness racing owners of Gimpanzee, have announced today that Gimpanzee will retire to Diamond Creek Farm of Kentucky for stud duty in 2021. He will serve a book of 80 mares for a stud fee of $30,000. Syndication will follow the 2021 breeding season. Gimpanzee is the first elite stallion prospect to be retired to stud in Kentucky since the Sire Stakes program was revamped.
The superbly consistent three time Breeders Crown Winner was the 2018 Dan Patch Two Year Old and is the presumed 2020 Dan Patch Older Male Trotter. His bloodline, carefully crafted by breeder, Order By Stables, is an excellent cross for
