Police A 37-YEAR-OLD man who bit a police officer’s boots while being arrested has been found guilty of a series of offences, including assault on police. Neill Armstrong, of Mantlin Road, Tattykeel Lower, Kesh entered guilty pleas to a number of charges; however, he contested the assault on police charge at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday. The assault relates to an incident at the defendant’s home on August 16, 2020. in which it took four officers to restrain the defendant at around 10.30pm. Bodyworn footage from one of the arresting officers was played in court. It showed Armstrong sitting on his front step before standing up and becoming aggressive towards one of the officers.
Man thought he was covered to drive partnerâs car A 23-YEAR-OLD man who mistakenly thought he was insured to drive the car he was in when stopped by police has been given a fine and penalty points. Curtis Timlin, with an address of Rosscolban Meadows, Kesh, was convicted of having no insurance and failing to provide his driving licence in relation to an incident on January 30. At around 5.10pm, police observed a Peugeot on the Cornagrade Road, Enniskillen being driven by the defendant. Checks showed there was no insurance in place. When he was pulled over, Timlin told officers he had an insurance policy which covered him through a third-party extension.

A FERMANAGH man has been sent forward to the Crown Court on more than 60 charges including possessing child porn, child prostitution, and inciting children to engage in sex acts.
Alun Cleary (37) of Main Street, Belleek, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday for a preliminary enquiry (PE) into a total of 61 charges.
The charges facing Cleary include 12 counts of making indecent photographs, 23 counts of possessing an indecent photograph, four counts of engaging a child in prostitution, five counts of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in a sex act, three counts of attempting to incite a child in a sex act, and three counts of attempting to incite a child in prostitution.
Three year ban for man, 20, who was over twice the legal limit for driving A 20-year-old man who drove a friend’s car after drinking has been banned from driving for three years. Conor Maguire, with an address of Edenclaw Road, Drumcahy, Ederney was convicted of driving with excess alcohol in his breath and having no insurance. On February 27, 2021 at around 2.30pm police responded to a report of a suspected drink driver in a Volkswagen Golf in the Cornagrade Road of Enniskillen. They located the car and stopped the defendant who failed an initial preliminary breath test. He was taken into custody where he gave an evidential reading of 85mg per 100ml of breath, over twice the legal limit.
