Resolution over Bellefonte Nuclear Plant lawsuit draws near

The future of the shuttered nuclear power plant in northeast Alabama is now in the hands of a federal judge after both sides in a lawsuit over the sale of the plant have asked for a final verdict in their favor without going to trial.
Attorneys for TVA, which owns Bellefonte Nuclear Plant near Scottsboro, and Nuclear Development LLC, which won purchasing rights to the plant at a 2016 auction, argued Friday in Huntsville before U.S. District Judge Liles Burke in seeking a summary judgment resolution.
