This spring and summer,
RT&S has been reporting on the ongoing saga of Union Pacific’s decision to close its car repair shop in Palestine, Texas. We first reported this on April 16, then June 10, and June 16. Those reports have good background information on what’s been going on.
The latest development is a decision by Judge Michael Davis of the 369th Judicial District Court on July 8 to require UP to keep the shop open and honor a 1955 agreement with the city of Palestine.
