An armed Dickinson man was killed in a Monday morning shooting incident with Dickinson police. Police were responding to a domestic violence call when the incident occurred.

Stephon Andre Barrett, 26, was indicted on Feb. 24 on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He entered a guilty plea during a livestreamed hearing in the 426th Judicial District Court on Tuesday.
A sentencing hearing will be held in around six weeks, after a pre-sentence investigation report is completed, according to court discussions on Tuesday. A plea bargain has been reached in the case.
Barrett has been held in the Bell County Jail on a bond of $100,000, since his arrest on Oct. 5, 2020.
