Hawks Host Chiefs For Senior Night

The Mid-Prairie boys soccer team finishes the regular season Monday when they host Keokuk in Wellman on Senior Night. Mid-Prairie stands at 8-4 on the season, they were beaten at West Branch Friday 2-1. On the year, the Hawks are led by Owen Trimpe with 14 goals, Ethan Trimpe with eight assists and Justice Jones with 23 saves and a 76.7% save percentage. Keokuk is winless on the season at 0-12. The Chiefs were beaten by Fairfield last Tuesday 15-0 in their last match. For the year, the Chiefs have been outscored 99-10. Keokuk is led by MJ Davis with five goals, London Wray with two assists and in goal, Erich Profeta has 101 saves and a 58.7% save percentage. Mid-Prairie has won the last two meetings in the series including a 3-2 victory in 2019. The Golden Hawks will honor seven seniors in tonight’s festivities including Tobin Miller, Zeus Fugate, Aaron Slaubaugh, Jake Swartzendruber, Ethan Trimpe, Michael Kelly, and Yassin Ahmed. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. in Wellman.

Golden Hawks Travel to West Branch Friday

The Mid-Prairie boys and girls soccer teams are back on the pitch for River Valley Conference action Friday when they make the trip to West Branch. The Mid-Prairie boys enter today’s match with a 8-3 record. They fell to No. 4 West Liberty 5-0 in Wellman on Tuesday. The Hawks come into the match ranked No. 10 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. On the year, Mid-Prairie is led by Jack Pennington and Owen Trimpe with 13 goals each. Ethan Trimpe is best for the Hawks with eight assists. In goal, Justice Jones has 11 saves and a 68.8% save percentage.
