A comprehensive look at references to the press in justicesâ opinions revealed âa marked and previously undocumented uptick in negative depictions.â

The only reason some Democrats want to change the number of justices on the United States Supreme Court is because Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton. As a senator in 1983, Joe Biden referred to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s court-packing effort as a “bonehead idea” and “terrible mistake” that eroded the independence of the Supreme Court. It remains so today, and it’s also a political gift for Republicans.
If Hillary Clinton had filled the vacancies left by Justices Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, we wouldn’t be having the conversation about Supreme Court “reforms.” Democratic court-packers are singularly focused on delivering the judicial outcomes progressives want regardless of the cost to America.
