Court says a staffer appears to have not received intimation
The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday told the State government that one of its staff members, who died of COVID-19 on Wednesday night, appears to have not received an SMS intimation about the result of his sample test till he died, while questioning whether the court’s direction to intimate test results within 24 hours to patients has been implemented effecively.
A Special Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar, told the government counsel that S.V. Muniraju, 45, a driver, had given his sample for COVID-19 test on May 10 and he died on May 12 .

The bench said the court has already issued directions to the state to ensure that labs provide citizens with results within 24 hours, but it is not being followed.

BENGALURU: Expressing concern over the impact of delay in providing Covid test results, the Karnataka High Court on Thursday issued direction to the State Government to inform all labs to provide the results within 24 hours of the samples being collected for Covid testing, and take action against those facilities that do not adhere to the deadline.

AAA The State government has now prohibited the supply of medical oxygen to individuals by confining it only to hospitals. It has also made it mandatory to conduct oxygen audit at each hospital.
These were part of the medical oxygen management guidelines issued by the government on the directions of the High Court of Karnataka.
“The refillers or manufacturers shall not supply medical oxygen to individual persons and all medical oxygen supplies shall be only to hospitals,” states the list of guidelines, issued under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act, 2020. Any violation would attract penalties as per these laws.
