Breaking- Karnataka High Court Extends Interim Orders Passed By It And All Subordinate Courts Till May 29

Share This - x The Karnataka High Court on Friday extended the operation of all interim orders passed by it or the subordinate courts and Tribunals, that are due to expire till May 29, 2021. A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar said During last three weeks there has been exponential rise in covid-19 cases in the state. Yesterday there were 14,738 case of covid positive out of which 10,497 are in Bengaluru urban district. From today functioning of district and trial courts, in nine districts has been restricted considering the fact that in these districts there are more than 1000 covid positive cases.

Updated: Share Article AAA The High Court of Karnataka on Friday suggested to the State government to examine setting up a high-level committee comprising a retired judge of the High Court, and retired bureaucrats from different disciplines to address grievances of citizens due to the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar told Additional Advocate General M. Dhyan Chinnappa to seek instruction from the government in setting up committee so that grievances of citizens can be considered by the committee and people need not knock on the doors of the courts.

Share This - x The Karnataka High Court has asked a Doctor, who had approached the court seeking directions to use pulse oximeter in detecting Covid-19 cases and avoid unwanted swab tests, to approach the concerned authorities with an appropriate representation. A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar on going through the prayers said Since most of the prayers made in the petition relate to policy matters, it will be appropriate if the petitioner makes a representation to the concerned authorities who are empowered to take policy decisions on the subjects. It concluded by saying We are sure that considering the issue of COVID-19, the concerned authorities will look into the said representations at the earliest and will take appropriate decisions.
