The Winnipeg Police Service is spending roughly a quarter of a million dollars all from the proceeds of crime on a new state-of-the-art robot capable of going into dangerous situations.

Organizers and community partners addressed these successes and challenges that lie ahead during a press event on Tuesday afternoon at the Millennial Library Park.
“Yes, as a society we have to address the root causes of homelessness and being unsheltered … but we also can eradicate homelessness with one relationship at a time and we’re doing it, we’re seeing it,” said Mitch Bourbonniere, community outreach liaison. “It is going to take a partnership … it’s going to take Downtown Biz, it’s going to take private partnerships, it’s going to take all three levels to maintain this. You judge a society by how it treats its most vulnerable.”
