According to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles, Leander Nathaniel Harris was arrested in Statesboro and the child was found safe.   An Amber Alert had been issued Jan. 7, in the afternoon, alleging that Harris had taken Genesis Gutierrez Harris from her Glennville home in Long County around 9 a.m.

(WTOC) - A 7-month-old that was kidnapped in Long County was located in safe condition in Statesboro on Thursday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. An Amber Alert was issued for the infant on Thursday morning. She was reportedly kidnapped around 9 a.m. in the Glennville area of Long County. The suspect, 23-year-old Leander Nathaniel Harris, has been taken into custody and will be charged with the abduction of a child and an assault on the child’s mother.

Mark Richardson was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home on the 1400 block of Tommie Hines Road. Authorities found Shamica Richardson suffering from a gunshot wound at her home in the 1500 block of Tommie Hines Road. She was taken to Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart, where she was later pronounced dead.
