GOP Senators Urge HHS Not to Use Title X Funds for Abortions
Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst led Republican senators in sending a Monday letter urging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services not to use Title X funds to support programs that provide abortions, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.
The GOP lawmakers urged HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra to withdraw the Biden administration’s proposed rule that “would allow Title X funds to support programs where abortion is a method of family planning, contrary to law, and, impose onerous and illegal mandates for Title X projects to counsel and refer for abortion.”

Overseas Pakistanis are denied the excitement of sighting the Eid moon on the 29th of Ramazan. Even when there is no suspense about the outcome, the entire spectacle is dutifully staged. The evening belongs to a select group of religious scholars who gather on a rooftop to peer into a telescope, looking for the new moon that should technically be visible to the naked eye.
But we have a history of how this supposedly easy and straightforward exercise can become controversial. After all, a new moon makes a fleeting appearance. Or a phantom moon may rise in the rugged hills of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the vision is promptly conveyed to Mufti Popalzai in Peshawar, our practised bringer of the first Eid when we have two.

Local musician Frank Meyer, known by most as the frontman for the veteran LA Punk outfit Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, is playing a residency at the Good Bar south of Rose Park that promises a night of comedy, magic, music and mayhem.
Long Beach officials are asking the community to submit letters of encouragement to the migrant children being housed inside the Long Beach Convention Center after wrapping up a previous drive, in partnership with the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, that collected 30,000 toys and books.

The city is now asking for anyone wanting to write words of encouragement to the children living in the Convention Center over the next few months to drop them off at participating locations so they can be displayed at the Convention Center and given directly to the children living there.
Letters will be accepted from May 10 through May 22.
