By Jeffrey Goodman, YMCA of Northwest Louisiana Director of Marketing and Development  The YMCA of Northwest Louisiana in Shreveport is hosting the 2021 Louisiana 15 and over Long Course Swimming Championships, which run Thursday through Sunday. The meet is the culmination culmination of four years of hard work for the staff responsible for building the YMCA competitive swim program. It not only marks a high point for the YNWL swim team but is a high point in the history of local competitive swimming. It will be the first state meet held in the area since 1979. “The event is the most elite long course meet ever hosted in Shreveport, the largest meet ever hosted at the Y in terms of swimmers on site for each session and the first Premlim/Final meet ever hosted at the Y,” said John Janszen, the director of the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana.
