OPINION: Harrogate and Knaresborough cycle schemes look likely to go ahead while Oatlands scheme could be cancelled - Don Mackenzie, North Yorkshire County Council

A decision on whether to progress four cycling schemes, which received provisional funding under the Government’s Active Travel Fund, will be taken on Friday, May 21 following two rounds of public consultation. Two are located in Harrogate and Knaresborough, namely Victoria Avenue between West Park and Station Parade, and the A59 uphill from Knaresborough towards Starbeck, whilst the third is in Whitby. Roads to be closed in Enfield from Sunday for roadworks

Public notices An overnight closure is due to be in place in Green Street on Sunday and Monday. Picture: Google Street View Roads in Enfield are set to be temporarily closed while roadworks are carried out from this weekend. The traffic restrictions are detailed by Enfield Council in notices published in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent. Green Street, between Jute Lane and Brimsdown Avenue, is set to be shut overnight on Sunday and Monday, as and when directed by signage. The closure will be in place from 10pm to 5am each day and traffic will be diverted via Green Street, Hertford Road, Nags Head Road and Mollison Avenue.
