"The class 12 board exams (organised by the MP Board of Secondary Education) for the year 2020-21 will not be held this year. The life of students is precious for us. We can take care of their career later," Chouhan said in a video statement posted on Twitter after holding a meeting with officials.
Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma
GUWAHATI: Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday hinted that the Class 10 state board exam (Matric) will be held as per schedule in May. He, however, added as the model code of conduct is on, any decision in this regard would be taken by the new government.
“We have some specific problems for which we can’t cancel the exam. CBSE has internal assessment unlike SEBA. If we upgrade the students without an exam, there will be issues in the admission process in colleges. Secondly, online exams are not feasible in our state as the village students don’t have online facilities. A practical decision has to be taken. The decision whether to conduct the Class X and Class 10+2 examinations will be taken only after the new government is formed on May 2,” Sarma told the media in Guwahati.
