National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), South East zone, Chief Ali Odefa, yesterday accused his former boss and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, of plotting to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on him and some of his property in the state.

Abakaliki, March 5, 2021 Stakeholders in Ebonyi have called for the sustenance of zoning arrangement in the distribution of key elective offices in the state for the 2023 general elections .
The stakeholders who spoke to newsmen on Thursday in Abakaliki in separate interviews, described zoning formula adopted by the state as ‘strategic and perfect’ for advancement of democracy.
According to them, the initiative has reduced acrimony, tension and bitter political struggle for succession.
They noted that sustaining the existing arrangement in 2023 and beyond would further cement the peace, unity and enhance existing bond among the different communities and cultures in the state.

The governor of Ebonyi State David Umahi has threatened to clampdown on stakeholders of Onitsha LGA, the hometown of the acting national vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ali Odefa and other communities for their inability to resolve all communal clashes in their areas.
Recall that there have been increased hostilities, killings and destruction of valuable properties by warlords in some communities of the state especially in Isinkwo and Abaomege, Ezza/ Effium communities.
It was gathered that political leaders/ stakeholders of Isinkwo and Abaomege, Ezza/ Effium and other communities in Ikwo, Izzi and Abakaliki local government areas allowed warlords to kill and destroy many lives and valuable properties that worth millions of naira.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced investigations on governor David Umahi-led government over N6.7billion naira belonging to the 13 local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The position of the EFCC was contained in an acknowledgement letter dated February 11, 2021, signed by the Head, Economic Governance, Adebayo Adeniyi, addressed to the principal partner, Amos Ogbonnaya and Co. Ebekuedike chambers.
This is in response to a petition it received from G-64 Former Coordinators’ Forum of Ebonyi State, through Amos Ogbonnaya and Co. Ebekuedike chambers.
This response was followed by a petition written to EFCC by the former 64 Development Centers coordinators alleging that Umahi-led government diverted the Ebonyi local government funds of 6,756,800,000.00 (six billion, seven hundred and fifteen six million, eight hundred thousand).
Ebonyi State Government has described allegations of nepotism and fraud against Governor Dave Umahi as false and calculated attempt to malign his character by his enemies.
