ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors measuring a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter’s scale were felt across several cities of Pakistan at 10:02 pm late Friday night, with Tajikistan’s Murghab.
A strong earthquake hit off the coast of eastern Japan on Saturday, injuring dozens of people and triggering widespread power outages, but there appeared to be no major damage and no tsunami warning was issued.

ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors measuring a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter s scale were felt across several cities of Pakistan at 10:02pm late Friday night, with Tajikistan s Murghab city reportedly being the epicentre, according to the Met office.
The Met office said tremors were felt across Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Mardan, North Waziristan, Swat, Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Lahore. They were also felt in Killa Abdullah, Pishin, Toba Achakzai, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Dir, and Chitral.
Meanwhile, Rescue Punjab, speaking to Geo News, said that despite such a high-intensity earthquake, no casualties have so far been reported. Director-General Rescue Punjab has issued a high-alert, according to a spokesperson.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck eight kilometres (five miles) south-east of Armenia's capital Yerevan, the emergency ministry said on Saturday.
