CARDIGAN’S new mayor Debra Griffiths – who appeared with her family in the acclaimed BBC Wales documentary Coal House in 2007 - says she is looking forward to her new starring role. Ms Griffiths took over from Cllr Clive Davies as mayor of Cardigan on Tuesday night in a virtual handover ceremony at Cardigan Town Council’s headquarters at Pendre. She will have fellow Mwldan Ward representative Cllr Trystan Phillips as her deputy, while her husband, Cerdin, will act as consort. “It’s a pleasure to be here as mayor,” Cllr Griffiths told colleagues. “I never thought this day would come, but I will do my best as always and just follow the good work undertaken by past mayors.
