Order issued to recover land worth Rs. 24 billion: Minister
Karachi, January 25, 2021 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce and Anti-Corruption and Cooperative Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has said that Sindh government is taking action against corrupt officials without any discrimination. Instructions have been issued to the concerned Deputy Commissioners to get government lands vacated worth more than Rs 24 billion, he said while addressing a press conference in the media cell of the Archives Department today.
He said that five cases had been registered against local government officials, 64 against the Board of Revenue, two each against health, works and services and the cooperation department. Dharejo added, “FIRs have been registered against the accused as per law”. Two FIRs have been approved against the Local Government Department. The proposed construction for a new public shoreline access walkway at Andy’s Way (Plat 3, Lot 155) was brought forth again to the Planning Board on Wednesday, Jan. 13 with the Town of New Shoreham seeking the request of a waiver from Development Plan Review. The application, submitted by the town, was previously discussed at the Wednesday, Dec. 9 meeting, with the board granting an approval to send a favorable advisory to the Zoning Board for the application.

Santa made a surprise visit via telecommunications during the Town Council’s meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
While the Town Council faced some technical difficulties during its Town Council meeting because of adverse weather conditions on Wednesday, Dec. 16, the Council was presented with some Covid-19 news on the future of vaccines from Block Island Medical Center Director Dr. Tom Warcup.
Town Manager Maryanne Crawford also announced that Police Chief Vin Carlone will be retiring in April 2021 after 17 years with the Town of New Shoreham Police Department.
“I am sure you will all join me in thanking his dedication and service, and wish him nothing but the best in his retirement,” said Crawford.
