Today, the Land Trust Alliance announced that the Missouri Prairie Foundation has achieved national accreditation joining a network of accredited land trusts across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to professional excellence and to maintaining the public’s trust in their work. There are currently 1,363 land trusts across the United States according to the Land Trust

The Katy Prairie Conservancy has announced it is applying for renewal of accreditation, required every five years, through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. KPC was first accredited in 2016.
The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. A public comment period is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.

La Plata Open Space Conservancy will apply for renewal of accreditation through Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance. A public comment period is open now through March 21.
The commission conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. La Plata Open Space Conservancy considers it a priority to fulfill the highest national standards for excellence and conservation permanence. Accredited land trusts have demonstrated fiscal accountability, strong organizational leadership, sound transactions and lasting stewardship of the lands they conserve.
A fundraising goal has been met to save the College Lodge Forest.
The Western New York Land Conservancy and the Friends of the College Lodge Forest announced Tuesday that the community has matched the challenge gift, allowing it to reach the fundraising goal to preserve the College Lodge Forest.
Located near Fredonia, the forest has served as a popular community gathering place for Chautauqua County residents, and once formally purchased, the grounds will be under permanent protection.
The Land Conservancy and the Friends of the College Lodge Forest, over the past handful of years, has held a fundraiser to conserve the property, which was originally purchased in 1939 by SUNY Fredonia students in order to emphasize outdoor health.
