Abu Dhabi, Singapore launch smart city innovation call
ABU DHABI, 6th May, 2021 (WAM) The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and IPI Singapore - a subsidiary of ESG - have jointly launched an innovation call to advance the smart city agenda. Eligible companies from Singapore are invited to submit solutions to address individual challenge statements outlined by Abu Dhabi entities, said a press release issued by ADIO on Thursday.
Through this innovation call, Abu Dhabi and Singapore aim to accelerate smart city development to sustainably improve quality of life, operational efficiency and competitiveness.
Singapore ranks first globally on Smart City Index 2020 of the Institute for Management Development (IMD), while Abu Dhabi has the highest ranking in the Middle East. The innovation call will increase collaboration, connect innovation ecosystems and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise between both sides.
Dubai: Abu Dhabi and Singapore expect to expand their ‘smart city’ credentials with a broad alliance on multiple fronts.
Eligible companies from Singapore are invited to submit solutions to address individual ‘challenge statements’ outlined by Abu Dhabi entities. The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and IPI Singapore will take the lead in the smart city alliance.
Singapore is rated as being the top ranked smart city in the world (according to the influential Institute for Management Development), while Abu Dhabi is at the top within the Middle East.

RIYADH The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved a significant advancement at the new global progress in the indicators of intellectual property rights and intellectual property protection, according to the Digital Competitiveness reports and the World Economic Forum.
The reports indicated that the Kingdom has surpassed more than 114 countries out of 141 on the Intellectual Property Protection Index, where it ranked 27th globally, moving 4 ranks from the year 2018, according to the 2019 report which has been issued recently.
Moreover, Saudi Arabia ranked 24th in the world for the year 2020 on the Intellectual Property Rights Index, where it jumped more than 10 ranks compared to the year 2019.
