Blues and Ameren Missouri award $21,000 to local charities

Donation made as part of Power Play Goals for Kids program by St. Louis Blues / Press Release The St. Louis Blues and Ameren Missouri awarded $21,000 to four local nonprofits today as part of the sixth annual Power Play Goals for Kids program. The program supports local charities focused on improving the lives of kids throughout our community. For every power play goal the Blues scored during the regular season (Jan. 13 to May 13), Ameren Missouri donated $500 to a children s charity selected by fans via an online vote that concluded on April 3. This season, the four worthy nonprofits were CASA St. Louis, Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association, LifeWise STL, and Youth In Need.

The Enterprise Center s Geoff Millener Wins National Digital Equity Award Thursday, May 27, 2021 Geoff Millener has been named a 2021 Charles Benton Digital Equity Champion, a recognition of leadership and dedication in advancing digital equity. Geoff, who is the senior program and operations officer at The Enterprise Center, was selected by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance and the Benton Institute for Broadband and Society for his work expanding access to technology across Hamilton County, and beyond. Two winners are selected each year, and Mr. Millener is being honored with the Emerging Leader Award, alongside Washington State University’s Monica Babine. The announcement was made at NDIA’s Net Inclusion webinar on Wednesday.

2020 was a year like no other for the City of Angola due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The bad news is that it affected us all. The good news is we have so far survived this better than we expected. Businesses are getting back to somewhat normal schedules. People are getting their vaccinations and are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although we have lost some businesses, we have also gained new businesses. Many of our industries and businesses are moving forward and are looking to add employees. Every business is doing business different today than they were a year ago. They have figured out what they need to do to survive and grow. For the twelfth time in 14 years Angola was named a Micropolitan Community for business and employee growth. This is a major milestone considering the pandemic.
