Y: The Last Man– but it s actually only been about a week or so. But as you re about to see, it would be easy to understand why because production is rolling along at a strong, steady pace. Thankfully, we have Clark to thank for being one of the best one-person public relations and promotion machine that the series could wish for (and makes covering the series so much easier). Book-to-screen deals are reported by the Hollywood trades in pieces that dutifully mention the novelists, directors and actors involved but often leave out the people who actually made it happen the agent or manager who hooked up the players, the producer who optioned it years ago, the book scout whose secret source shared the proposal before book publishers had even seen it.
Below are a few of Hollywood’s most important behind-the-scenes movers, shakers and connection-makers agents, scouts, managers and execs. Not all of them toil in obscurity, but each contributes mightily to the adaptation process that puts all those pages on the screen.
Hilaria Baldwin is apologizing for not being clearer about her cultural identity a month after social media users accused her of pretending to be Spanish even though she was born in Boston.
After responding to the controversy in an Instagram video last December, Baldwin returned to the social media site on Friday to say she s spent the last month listening, reflecting, and asking myself how I can learn and grow.
Though she reiterated she was raised with both American and Spanish cultures and feels a true sense of belonging to both, she added that the way I’ve spoken about myself and my deep connection to two cultures could have been better explained.
