The pubs will be open from 9am to 9pm from Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays - although some branches will have restrictions on closing times. When they reopen a slightly reduced menu will be offered, with food available from 9am to 8pm seven days a week. Customers will be able to order and pay through the Wetherspoon app, and staff will be able to take orders and payment at the table.

UK’s best and worst motorway service stations revealed Print

Gloucester and Tebay services have been named Britain’s best service stations, while Bridgwater in the southwest of England has been ranked the worst, according to a new survey from Which?.
Consumer champion Which? surveyed more than 2,700 members covering around 5,600 experiences at almost 70 motorway service stations across the UK. Members rated them on criteria, including range of facilities, prices, and ease of social distancing.
The top three service stations belong to Westmorland. Gloucester (on the M5), Tebay (on the M6 at the edge of the Lake District), and Cairn Lodge (on the M74 in Lanarkshire) ranked first, second, and third in the table, respectively.

Sandbach services - located between junctions 16 and 17 on the M6 - is ranked among the worst five analysed by consumer group Which? It performed slightly better than the very worst site, Bridgwater services on the M5 in Somerset, which was awarded just one star out of five for all categories, including cleanliness, range of facilities and prices. The Moto-owned site in Somerset received an overall customer score of just 32%. Recent visitors described the venue as “dirty” and “depressing”, and others complained of a urine smell and toilet paper strewn on the floor.
