Kye Malin, of Stower Place, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday (July 13). The 32-year-old admitted using a motor vehicle without insurance, and driving without a valid licence, on June 25. Prosecutor, Ann Smout, told the court that at around 4.30pm, an officer had been on duty driving an unmarked police vehicle on Newport Road, Ventnor. She said police were conducting a search for a wanted male in the area, and drove past a Volkswagen Golf, whose driver resembled the suspect. The vehicle was stopped and it was established Malin was not the man they were looking for, but checks were carried out on the vehicle.
