Jan 17, 2021 LIBERTY Thelma J. Watterson, 94, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 12, 2021, at Shepherd of the Valley in Liberty. Thelma was born on May 15, 1926, in Apollo, Pa. She was a daughter of Joseph and Hester Powell Klingensmith. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary in Washington , D.C., and later in Pittsburgh and Youngstown. Thelma was a lifelong member of Christ Church Presbyterian, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Women Organization, Lydia Circle and a past deaconess. Thelma enjoyed painting, reading, sewing, golfing, and, most of all, playing cards. During her life, she enjoyed traveling to various parts of the country and visiting with family.

WARREN Eric Thompson’s comedy and magic show has taken him all over the world, including Cuba, Africa, China and across Latin America. “It’s a visual thing so the story doesn’t translate, but the act of magic does,” Thompson, 58, said. He sometimes works with a translator when performing abroad, but that complicated the timing of jokes. Still, the show has been performed in six languages and in more than two dozen nations on five continents. Thompson developed an interest in magic as a child in Howland.

Jan 13, 2021 NEWTON FALLS Kenneth “Kenny” Ferrance, 79, of Newton Falls, passed peacefully Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Washington Square Healthcare Center. Kenny was born Nov. 8, 1941, in Warren, the son of John and Helen Prutz Ferrance. He was a 1960 graduate of Newton Falls High School, where he was an outstanding athlete with the football team. He would carry his enthusiasm for the game while playing for the Youngstown University football team. With his induction into the U.S. Army, Kenny would leave the university and enter the service on Dec. 13, 1961. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 12, 1963. Returning to civilian life, Kenny would begin his career as a business owner, starting as a partner in Carlos’s Nightclub in Newton Falls. He would expand his ownerships to include the Convenient Food Marts in Newton Falls and Warren.

Jan 12, 2021 WARREN Georgia Kay Rex Stefani, 81, of Warren, Ohio, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at her home following complications after a fall. Georgia was born Sept. 21, 1939, to her loving parents, Thomas and Dorothy Ennis Rex in Struthers. She graduated from Struthers High School in 1957, then graduated from the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1960 as a registered nurse. Georgia worked as a registered nurse for nearly 55 years in a career that spanned working on the ninth floor at Trumbull Memorial Hospital; decades assisting Dr. Casale and Dr. Millheim in their OB / GYN practice; nearly 20 years managing the office and working with patients alongside Dr. Charles Chung in his urology practice; and then Dr. Baji in his urology practice until his retirement.
