Hexham A Hexham man has been jailed for a total of 26 weeks after he admitted stalking and harassing a woman. Paul Smith (51), of Broomhaugh Close, Hexham, appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Monday (April 26). He admitted two charges of pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of a woman, and which he knew or ought to know amounted to the harassment of her. Court papers say Smith sent gifts, deposited money into her bank, and made unwanted contact between July 16 and September 13, 2020 at Hexham. They added the behaviour was ‘intense and worrying over a length of time’.
