It influenced me a lot: I learnt to use the class system’  Internationally acclaimed architect Sir Terry Farrell is renowned for his exuberant post-modernist buildings such as the MI6 headquarters, the TV-am studios in Camden – declared Britain’s most maverick building – and Hong Kong’s Peak Tower. An urban planner with a reputation for contextual and inclusive design, he also created the new Greenwich Peninsula, Newcastle Quayside and Paddington Basin. Sir Terry, 82, lives in Kent and London with his third wife, Mei Xin Wang. He has five children and one stepson.
