Now is the time to make your voice heard! We need Fair Maps when Indiana lawmakers redistrict after the census data is returned this summer.
Register in advance at allinfordemocracy.org for a public hearing to be held by the Indiana Citizens Redistricting Commission on March 16, 7-9 p.m. (Congressional District 6).
Indiana Leagues of Women Voters have been laying groundwork for Fair Maps over the last decade, since the current maps were approved by the legislature in 2011, producing our current supermajority legislature.

The panel tasked with redrawing the political boundaries for California s legislative Assembly and Senate districts, as well as the state s 53 congressional House seats, based on the 2020 census is revving up its work as it strives to send the final maps to the secretary of state in time for next year s elections. It is expected the Golden State will lose at least one congressional district when the census bureau releases the results from the decennial tally of the country s population this summer.
Most of the 14 members of the 2020 Citizens Redistricting Commission have begun holding town halls in their regions of the state to educate the public about its work and how they can get involved. People can submit their own district maps for the panel to consider via the website www.drawmycacommunity.org before it tackles drawing the new boundaries in the fall.

The sheer ignorance, oh, and it’s ignorance, that signaling is lost on those who think it’s fine saying “She-Caw-Go” and folks hear that whistle loud and clear…
We have others saying “the suburbs” aren’t represented, yet all FOUR tops represent the suburbs… “just not our suburbs” is the same as those thinking “She-Caw-Go” and its dog whistle is fine without grasping actual geography.

The Texas State Legislature is working on redistricting, or drawing new district boundary lines that reflect the community.
This year, advocates say they are focused on making sure that district boundary lines are drawn fairly.
Members of the Fair Maps TX Coalition, a group advocating for equal political representation, are trying to get lawmakers to change the process of choosing boundaries in the first place.
“We wanted to have more public input hearings,” said Stephanie Swanson of the Fair Maps TX Coalition. “We wanted specifically to have those hearings after the census data comes back to the state.”
