The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 13.6 per cent provincially and 13.7 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on December 16, 2020, 292 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, one case was removed due to a data correction making the net total 291 and brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 21,826.
Public health officials advise 15 additional deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today including:
a male in his 40s from the Winnipeg health region;
a female in her 40s from the Interlake-Eastern health region, linked to outbreak at Kin Place;

The province continues to ask Manitobans to only call to book a COVID-19 vaccine if they qualify for one during the current round.

However, one case was removed due to a data correction, making the net total 271 and brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 21,535.

Manitoba has suffered more than 500 deaths due to COVID-19 thus far in the pandemic, as nine more seniors have succumbed to the disease.

On Tuesday, the province reported the deaths of nine more Manitobans; six were linked to an outbreak at a personal care home. So far, 508 people have died due to COVID-19 in the province.
