Another of the Circle City s warm-weather traditions will return with Newfields National Bank of Indianapolis Summer Nights Film Series. After canceling the popular event in 2020, the art and nature campus has announced 14 films that have been curated in collaboration with film scholar Coye Lloyd.
The movies, which span 1940 to 2020, will show a wide array of stories, including such classics as Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window and Michael Schultz s Cooley High.
The Summer Nights experience will be much the same, albeit with an audience capacity at 40% in Newfields Amphitheater, social distancing and the requirement to wear a mask except when seated.

Based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things personifies her time working as the online advice columnist Sugar. When asked to take over the unpaid, anonymous position, Strayed used empathy and her personal experiences to help those seeking guidance for obstacles both large and small.
The stage adaptation by Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) places Strayed in her home, where the letter writers appear and share their deepest hurts and struggles. The letters are full of heartbreak and humor, and Strayed counsels each writer deep into the night, sharing words of compassion and hope. PROVIDENCE â The historical vaudeville performance house that was once known as the Emery Majestic Theater on Washington Street will finally raise the curtain for in-person shows this year. After being shuttered temporarily because of rising COVID-19 cases in March 2020, the Trinity Repertory Company announced Wednesday a return of in-person theater productions beginning in November 2021.
