Nipissing West OPP said officers responded shortly after 7:30 p.m. to a report of a missing person on Burnt Island, near the head of the French at Lake Nipissing.

A 15 year-old had strayed away from a campsite looking for firewood, the OPP said in a release.
An OPP marine unit and helicopter were employed to search for the teen, along with members of the Nipissing West OPP, an emergency response team and canine unit.
About six-and-a-half hours later, the individual was successfully located, uninjured, by the OPP boat.
