Renowned journalist and television personity Nidhi Razdan has revealed how she became a victim of a very “sophisticated phishing” attack. In June 2020 she announced she would be quitting NDTV after 21 years because she has been offered a teaching position at Harvard University.

Famed Indian journalist Nidhi Razdan said on Friday the Harvard job offer that she got some months ago was fake and she was a victim in an elaborate phishing attack.
On June 13, 2020, Nidhi Razdan, 43, one of Indian broadcast media’s well-known anchors, announced that she would be quitting NDTV, perhaps the most-respected Indian TV channel, after a 21-year stint, as she was “changing direction” to join Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences as an associate professor. The celebrated Indian media story of last year amid the Covid-inflicted doom and gloom in the profession, where thousands of jobs were lost, came full circle on Friday.

NEW DELHI: Senior broadcast journalist, Nidhi Razdan, who last year quit NDTV “to teach journalism at Harvard University” has said the job offer by the Ivy League university was actually fake and that she was a “victim of a sophisticated and coordinated phishing attack”.
Razdan quit NDTV in June last year after 21 years of affiliation with the news channel saying she would be taking up a teaching role at Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts & Sciences as associate professor.
However, in a detailed note unloaded by her on Twitter Friday afternoon, the former NDTV anchor said that she had learnt from Harvard lately that they had not made any offer to her to join their faculty as an Associate Professor of journalism
