Jersey City Theater Center Wraps Up 2021 Stages Festival Across Final Two Thursdays In May
(JERSEY CITY, NJ) The Jersey City Theater Center’s 2021 New Play Festival, part of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s 2021 Stages Festival, wraps up four weeks of new plays the next two Thursdays May 20 and 27. A total of ten new plays on the topic of healing from the US, Canada and New Zealand will have been seen in the festival, which began on May 6. All shows are at 7:30pm. Art House Productionsâ Virtual INKubator New Play Festival Kicks Off ×
Art House Productions has announced casting for the Virtual INKubator New Play Festival, now underway through Wednesday, May 19 online via Zoom.
The festival will feature playwrights from the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 cohorts, including Kev Berry, Andrea Coleman, Izzi DâEsposito, Madeline Dennis-Yates, Nathaniel Foster, Alyssa Haddad, Aja Nisenson, SMJ, Christopher-Rashee Stevenson, Leila Teitelman, and Colin Waitt. All public readings are free for audiences and begin at 7:00pm EST. Audiences who attend the festival will also have the opportunity to participate in conversations with the writers, directors, and actors after each performance.

(SUMMIT, NJ) Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre will present its annual Meet the Artist new play reading series on Wednesdays, May 5, 12, 19 and 26. All readings will take place on Zoom at 7:00pm, and require advance registration. The new play reading series is a chance for the audience to participate in the development of new works, both to hear the plays read by professional actors and also to discuss the projects with the playwright, director and actors afterward. There will be an opportunity for the audience to provide feedback to the team after every performance.
