THE Economic and Financial Crime Commission has detained the Clerk of Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Bode Aladeyelu, a member of the House, Mr Felemugudu Bankole, and two civil servants over an allegation of fraud.
It was earlier reported that the anti-graft agency invited the alleged persons over the fraud case allegedly committed in 2019 and were said to have been in the detention of the agency since last week.
A source in the Assembly on Sunday informed our correspondent that the persons responded to the invitation of the EFCC and went to report at the commission’s office where they were said to have been detained.

The Ondo State House of Assembly, on Monday, said only two people in the Assembly are in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission over the allegation of fraud and not four as earlier reported in the media.
It was earlier reported that the Clerk of the House, Mr Bode Aladeyelu; a lawmaker, Mr Bankole Felemugudu, representing Akoko South West Constituency, and two other civil servants, were detained by the anti-graft agency but the Assembly said only the Clerk and the lawmaker were detained.

The Ondo state House of Assembly has fingered the impeached deputy speaker Rt Hon Iroju Ogundeji and one other lawmaker as the petitioners of the phony N2.4 m fraud in the assembly.
They reportedly petitioned the Economic and Financial Crime Commission alleging that the funds meant for a supposed seminar ended up in private pockets.
Consequently, a lawmaker, Felemugudu Bankole, the Clerk of the House of Assembly, Bode Aladeyelu, and two civil servants Olusegun Kayode Oyadeji and OJ. Afolabi was detained by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission over alleged fraud.
