Dogs are already used to detect cancer, malaria and Parkinson’s disease – now they are being trained to sniff out the subtle changes in odour that accompany respiratory diseases

India is training sniffer dogs to identify the presence of Covid-19 in the sweat and urine of asymptomatic soldiers, to avoid clusters of cases while they are on deployment in remote areas.
