Brigett Scott received the 2019-2020 Outstanding Educator Award.
Scott, whose background is in dietetics, is associate dean of the College of Science and Technology and director of the University Honors Program.
“This award from LSPS was a total surprise, but I enjoyed working with the faculty and students in applied sciences,” Scott said. “Our students and professors are a hardworking group of individuals. I am proud of what we accomplished together.”
Founded in 1961, the group is the professional organization land surveyors in Louisiana.

Nicholls State University names new Liberal Arts dean

Nicholls State University has named veteran educator Jean Donegan dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
Donegan has over 25 years of experience at Nicholls as an art professor and department head. She has served as the interim liberal arts dean since the College of Arts and Sciences first split in fall 2019.
“It has been my good fortune to call Nicholls home for the past 26 years as both an educator and administrator,” Donegan said. “As dean of the College of Liberal Arts, I will work with some of the most creative individuals on campus. I look forward to furthering the interests of each department and our college. I am most appreciative of this opportunity and anticipate productive years to come.”
