DAVENPORT, Iowa A portal has been made available for Davenport residents to report issues around town. It s called SeeClickFix and replaced the formerly-used reporting tool called YourGov.
The digital work-order system allows residents to describe the issue, share an address and a photo and communicate back and forth with city staff as their complaint is acknowledged and resolved.
Several of the requests in mid-January 2021 involved snow and ice. But it s also a place to report nuisance properties, abandoned vehicles, potholes, illegal dumping, roadkill, lighting issues, and more. The new system includes the ability for two‐way communication with citizens, and feedback when work is complete, something not available with past request applications, said Public Works Director Nicole Gleason. The move will result in significant improvement in the way we communicate with citizens who place requests for service.

DAVENPORT, Iowa With the potential for more snow the week of January 11th looming some Davenport residents fear it could mean more snow on top of the ice already covering their street. One group of Davenport neighbors is asking the city to pay more attention to them.
If you drive down Crow Creek road in Davenport it’s completely cleared of snow and ice, but if you turn onto Ravenwood Court, just before entering Bettendorf, it’s not the same story.
Rebecca Varilek has lived on Ravenwood Court for more than 20 years. She says it’s always been a problem getting their street plowed. “All the other neighborhood streets have been cleared. It’s very disheartening.”
QC Public Works Departments say supply of salt, plow drivers unaffected by pandemic
MOLINE, Illinois (WQAD ) A 1,500 ton salt delivery arrived right on time for Tuesday’s snowfall. It’s the first shipment of the season for the Moline Public Works Department, which had leftover salt from the last winter.
Municipal Services General Manager Rodd Schick says the department had extra salt in its reserves because of milder conditions last winter. He says the pandemic hasn’t impacted how much product the department gets.
“(During a) small snow and ice event, we go through 200 to 300 tons of salt,” Schick says. “(During a) significant event, we can use 500 or more tons of salt.”
