Source/Pennsylvania State Police Nicole Ebaugh, 29, was found dead around Heritage Rail Trail County Park in Springfield Township in York County, Pennsylvania State Police said. Ebaugh was last seen Saturday in the same area and was reported missing that evening, prompting a widespread search.
UPDATE (3/16/21): The York County Coroner s Office has determined the cause of Nicole Ebaugh s death was gunshot by suicide.
A 29-year-old Pennsylvania woman who went missing last weekend in York County has been found dead, State Police said Friday.
Nicole Elizabeth Ebaugh was found in the area of Heritage Rail Trail County Park in Springfield Township, Trooper Kevin Kochka said in a news release on Twitter. It was near the Glatfelter s Station Road Parking Area.

The statement, written by Ebaugh s brother, Matt, on behalf of the family, was released to clear up any miscommunication about how people can and cannot help with the search efforts. Over the past several days, Matt Ebaugh wrote, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support in the efforts to find my sister Nicole.
Matt Ebaugh wrote, Please understand that our family is working in close coordination with the Pennsylvania State Police and are in constant contact with them. Thus far, we have organized search efforts that are in accordance with what they deemed helpful and appropriate.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. Update, 1 p.m. (March 12): State Police say Nicole Elizabeth Ebaugh was found dead after an week-long extensive search.
The cause or manner of the death is pending autopsy, police said. At this time, there is no threat to the public and there is no further information that we can provide regarding this investigation, State Police said in a press release. We cannot thank South Central PA Search and Rescue, Middle Creek Search and Recuse, as well as the endless number of volunteers who helped assist the Pennsylvania State Police with this investigation.

A 29-year-old woman who went missing from a York County park last weekend has been found dead, Pennsylvania State Police said Friday.
Nicole Elizabeth Ebaugh was discovered in the area of Heritage Rail Trail County Park at Glatfelters Station Road in Springfield Township, Trooper Kevin Kochka said.
Her cause and manner of death will be determined during an autopsy, he said. There is no threat to the community, Kochka said, but no additional information was immediately available.
