Four candidates in the Nicolet School Board spring primary have advanced to the April 6 general election, where they will compete for two open seats. Incumbent Marilyn Franklin secured the most votes with 1,509 (35%). Libby Gutterman, current Nicolet School Board vice president, followed in second place with 1,159 votes (27%), Robert Cronwell in third with 730 votes (17%) and Julie Greig Reindl in fourth with 528 votes (12%).

Hazel Meinert NICOLLET Hazel Meinert, age 77, of Nicollet died peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at her home in Nicollet after a six-year battle with multiple myeloma. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Pastor Micah Plocher will officiate the service, and burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Nicollet. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and continue from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. The funeral service will be livestreamed through the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home’s Facebook page starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
