Station officer Ivan Millan provides an update on a fire in Whenuapai that sent a plume of smoke into the air, visible from Auckland City.
A second fire at a west Auckland house involved in a murder case was deliberately lit, according to a fire investigator who attended the scene. On Thursday at 9:34am, Fire and Emergency New Zealand received a call about a fire at a property on Trig Rd, Whenuapai. The fire was immediately upgraded to second alarm as the house was well alight. Fire crews, Police detectives and Air Force appliances from the nearby Whenuapai air base made their way to the scene. The fire was extinguished just after 11am.
