Jammin for Jaclyn Benefit Concert features eight acts performing virtually in honor of area man battling cancer
SAYREVILLE – An annual benefit concert for people fighting cancer will hold its eighth event remotely while raising donations for a local business owner.
The eighth annual Jammin for Jaclyn Benefit Concert will be streamed through Facebook Live on June 12 through the handle @JamminforJaclyn. It is scheduled to run from 7 to 10 p.m.
This year’s beneficiary is Brian Da Silva, who is battling pancreatic cancer, according to the event organizers. Da Silva is a lifelong resident of Elizabeth and owns CBR Towing and Recovery, LLC, a towing company.

Strong Hearts, a vegan cafe, is closing its location at the Marshall Square Mall near Syracuse University. Its primary location on East Fayette Street remains open.

Syracuse, N.Y. Strong Hearts Café, Syracuse’s pioneering all-vegan restaurant, is closing down its location in the Marshall Street area near Syracuse University.
Friday (May 21) will be the last day for service at Strong Hearts on the Hill inside the Marshall Square Mall at 720 University Ave. That spot has been open for seven years and the lease is expiring, owner Nick Ryan and Joel Capolongo said in a Facebook post today.
