Rachel Wagner: 5 Years Writing for Rotoscopers

Here at Rotoscopers we try to keep our reviews as fair and news articles as objective as possible, and we don’t get into our personal histories or stories much. However, today marks 5 years I have been writing for the site and I think it is appropriate to take a moment to express my gratitude for the experiences I have had, friends I have made and the even greater animation-addict I have grown into being.  The first time I heard about the Rotoscopers podcast was from Mark Brown, a fellow-blogger and roto-writer who still contributes to the site to this day. I also knew Morgan Stradling, one of the Rotoscopers’ hosts, from our mutual patronage of Rob Cesternino’s podcast and the reality show

These credits have been accumulated over the course of the year from dust jackets, Acknowledgments sections and copyright pages in works, cover reveal blog posts, and other sources on the internet. This year, Filers Martin Pyne and Karen B. also collected this information, and though we had a lot of overlap, their extra entries have greatly increased the information we are able to provide you. My profound thanks go to Martin and Karen for all of their hard work. You can see the full combined spreadsheet of Editor and Artist credits here (I will be continuing to update this as I get more information).

Comfort Films (COLLAB)

Favourite Comfort Films We all enjoy a good comfortable re-watch of a film when we are in need of a good relax. In such anxious times the security of an already known, enjoyable plot seems more deserved now than ever. Here are a few of our writers favourite comfort films.   (1995) Aardman Animations’ classic hit film A Close Shave has always been a film that’s been dear to my heart as it never fails to make me laugh and cry; making it a clear comfort film. There’s nothing better than watching the fantastic bond Nick Park and the Aardman team have created over time between the characters of Wallace and his mute but incredibly intelligent dog Gromit to make you feel a sense of comfort and happiness.
