Wales Interactive and Ghost Dog Films are bringing interactive movie and psychological thriller
I Saw Black Clouds to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam with a release date of March 30, 2021. The FMV game will include a supernatural narrative and branching story paths with different endings all filmed in the United Kingdom, and it stars Nicole O’Neill (
Red Sparrow,
Penny Dreadful,
Beauty and the Beast). The premise is, “After the unexpected death of a close friend, Kristina returns to her hometown looking for answers, only to unearth a string of dark secrets. The truth turns out to be far more harrowing than she could have imagined…”

Wales Interactive has announced its next interactive thriller and it is called I Saw Black Clouds. I Saw Black Clouds is a psychological and supernatural thriller that has come about from a partnership between Wales Interactive and Ghost Dog Films. The title has been confirmed for PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release coming at a later date, though with backwards compatibility you can still play the the PS4 and Xbox One versions on the new consoles.

The story of I Saw Black Clouds follows Kristina, played by Nicole O’Neill who has been in Penny Dreadful and Red Sparrow, as she returns home to learn the truth of her friend’s death. Each choice made will lead to different outcomes as the title features a branching storyline, much like Wales Interactive’s other interactive movies. Krisitina’s personality is tracked through each choice with her honesty, strength, morality, tact and intros
FMV s Renaissance Continues with I Saw Black Clouds on PS5, PS4
Wales Interactive has not just dipped its toe into FMV’s renaissance: it’s dunked its collective head in. Fresh from the release of lockdown dating drama Five Dates, it’s announced something a touch darker: I Saw Black Clouds. Described as a psychological thriller, the story will follow the events of Kristina (Nicole O Neill), as she “returns to her hometown looking for answers only to unearth a string of dark secrets”.
The press release pitches: “How you connect with the characters and the moral choices you make along the way will affect what you discover, the journey you take, and the resolution you find at the end. Your decisions will not only change individual scenes, but could present you with an entirely different storyline that can be discovered on multiple playthroughs.”

The game will put players in the shoes of Kristina (played by Nicole O’Neill of
Penny Dreadful), who returns to her hometown after the death of a friend. In the process of looking for answers, she reveals a string of secrets, that will see her connect with characters and encounter supernatural elements.

Wales Interactive has promised a branching story that takes into account the moral choices players make along the way.
The game will reward players with a breakdown of how they interact with other characters, through the five dimensions of their own personality – “honesty, strength, morality, tact and introspection” – whilst also controlling how Kristina faces her own challenges.
