PM confirms England will take Step 3 out of lockdown on 17 May

PM confirms England will take Step 3 out of lockdown on 17 May Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed 17 May will mark the activation of Step 3 of England’s roadmap out of lockdown. While Step 3 is good news for pub and restaurant owners, who will again be allowed to welcome people back inside their venues, it is also good news for large parts of the events industry. While social distancing is still required, there is no requirement for Covid-status certification at this time to secure entry. Overnight stays will also be allowed from 17 May. From 17 May, most events will resume in some capacity, although it is likely some may opt to postpone if costs make it unviable owing to capacity restrictions.

Overnight stays will also be allowed from 17 May.

Blossoms and The Lathums were joined by Zuzu at the pilot event in Liverpool. Blossoms headlined a gig in front of 5,000 people, a slightly reduced capacity, at Sefton Park yesterday which was arranged to continue the gradual return of live music to the UK. Those in attendance were not required to wear masks or socially distance, instead required to produce a negative COVID test 24 hours before the concert, and they will be asked to take another at a later date to monitor any possible transmission rates. Social media has been full of pictures and videos from the significant occasion, The Lathums writing on their Twitter feed that they would, ‘cherish the moment forever’.
