The new TRD Next Gen model is ready to race with 670 hp on tap.
If you want a sporty sedan from an established brand, you can t do much better than the Toyota Camry TRD. Far from the staid Camrys seen in years gone by, we went as far as to call it the best Camry ever. The TRD has also proven to be a hit on the sales charts.
But Toyota and TRD (Toyota Racing Development) have just taken the covers off a much more extreme version of the Camry sedan. This is the Toyota TRD Camry Next Gen that will do battle on the track next year as part of the Nascar Cup Series (NCS). With up to 670 horsepower and flamboyant styling, this Camry is set to make its debut at the 2022 Daytona 500. Toyota, of course, has a well-established Nascar presence with previous Camrys and racing versions of the Tundra and Supra.
This will be NASCAR s version of the excellent Formula 1: Drive To Survive series.
Netflix offers a wealth of original car-focused content to keep gearheads entertained while we re all stuck at home during the pandemic. Michael Bay s 6 Underground opens with an incredible destructive car chase featuring an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio causing mayhem in Florence. There s also Hyperdrive, a reality TV show that is like Fast & Furious in real life. You can also catch up on the Fast & Furious movies before Fast 9 hits theaters in June.
For racing fans, Formula 1: Drive To Survive provides a fascinating behind-the-scenes look into the world of Formula 1. Now, Netflix has announced a new Nascar documentary series is going into production.
