NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The vulnerability of the telecommunications system in Nashville and beyond became clear Christmas Day when AT&T s central office in downtown became the site of a bombing.
Mayor John Cooper called the blast on Second Avenue an attack on infrastructure. The effects of that attack are sure to ripple through the region for weeks, as the telecom giant scrambles to restore services while maintaining the integrity of an active investigation site teeming with federal agents.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A Marine from Evansville is home for the holidays.
Zane Carr is stationed on the west coast, where he’s been for the past nine months.
His sister, Tiffani said they picked him up from the Nashville Airport but kept it a secret from their other sister, Zoe.
“He is her most favorite person in the world. They talk every day,” said Tiffani.
The family surprised Zoe when they got home and captured the moment on video.

NASHVILLE – The Mayor of Nashville has declared a state of emergency and enacted a curfew in the city following an early morning explosion that injured three people and damaged several buildings.
Mayor Cooper states, “I have signed Executive Order 12 to issue a state of civil emergency proclaimed within the area bounded by James Robertson Parkway, 4th Ave north, Broadway and the Cumberland River. A curfew will start at 4:30pm, Friday Dec 25. and be lifted Sunday, December 27 at 4:30pm.”
As well, the Nashville Airport is under enhanced security measures.
The FBI has also established a digital tip line for anyone with information about the explosion. Those who prefer to call can do so by dialing 1-800-CALL-FBI.
