But who was the person behind Paige, who touched so many people? Mark Middleton from Paducah, Kentucky started his drag career in Nashville. After initially declining, Middleton joined a pageant for individuals who have never done drag and won. In an interview, Middleton’s friend Ron Sanford said that his Bianca Paige persona was the opposite of him.  “Mark was totally different than Bianca,” Sanford said.  “Mark was a brilliant man that became an even more fabulous woman.” Middleton waited tables at Merchants and Mere Bulles when he wasn’t Bianca Paige, the Pantomime Rage. Michael “Dolly” Wilson, another friend of Middleton, also said that he liked to keep his regular personality separate from his drag identity. He expressed that Middleton would finish work, exhausted and when he would turn into Bianca Paige, he would come to life.
