The Texas Longhorns needed to land talent in the trenches in this class and did just that as four-star lineman Cole Hutson made his commitment and joined the 2022 class.
Hutson not only fills a significant need for Texas, but represents a big win over some of the toughest recruiting competition in the country. During the June flurry, he visited the Oklahoma Sooners, the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas A&M Aggies on an official basis in addition to his two visits in Austin. Hutson was on the Forty Acres for his official visit on June 11, but made his way down from Frisco for the Austin Regional and spent time with the coaching staff as he watched his father’s alma mater, the Arizona State Sun Devils, play baseball.

$4 billion in loan forgiveness meant to aid minority farmers is tied up in a legal battle. On one side is the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) trying to remedy its long history of discriminating against farmers of color. On the other is a white farmer from Jennings, Florida. He argues the loan forgiveness program violates his rights.
Wen Fa is one of the attorneys representing Scott Wynn, the white farmer suing the USDA. Fa says the USDA excludes white farmers from the program based on their race, which he says is unconstitutional.

Texas Longhorns forward Jericho Sims signed with an agent on Wednesday, officially ending his college career, Klutch Sports announced.
Always likely to turn professional instead of returning for a fifth season on the Forty Acres, Sims performed well at the NBA Combine last week, boosting his draft stock, after the odds of Sims returning decreased recently when Texas landed a commitment from UMass transfer Tre Mitchell.
Sims posted a 44.5-inch vertical with a 7’3 wingspan after impressing during individual workouts, then carried that success over into scrimmages with his ability as a rim runner who can finish with authority and as a strong and active defender.
