Michael Dolley, who has died from cancer aged 62, was a Conservative agent whose campaigns ranged from the Tory shires to Iraq, Kenya, and Somalia.
Michael John Edward Dolley was born in Kingston-upon-Thames on March 29 1959, the elder son of Dr Michael Dolley, director of the British Numismatic Society, and his wife Mary (née Harris).

Ian Gibson, who has died aged 82 of pancreatic cancer, had a considerable reputation as a cancer researcher before seeking a political career in order to try to advance the cause of science in public life. He was elected for the first time in 1997, aged 58, as the Labour MP for Norwich North and spent the ensuing 12 years in an energetic pursuit of this case, while also propounding his strongly held convictions on a wide range of issues about health and education.
He was a popular, charismatic man who won the influential chairmanship of the Commons select committee on science and technology in 2001, despite the opposition of his own party whips.

Free helicopter rides worth £18,000, pay of £5,000 for 23 hours work and a £17,000 donation from a private school - Norfolk MPs have declared a string of financial interests over the last two years.
He represents the most deprived constituency in east England, but his register of interests shows a very different type of lifestyle.
Mr Lewis enjoyed four helicopter flights, worth a total of £18,200, between May and September 2019, provided by property developer Gallagher Developments Ltd.
They include one helicopter ride from London to Yarmouth on September 6 2019, the day he attended an event in his constituency about Brexit.

Eve Collishaw is someone you won’t have heard of unless you follow Norwich politics very closely. I first met her on the campaign trail in Norwich North in the 1983 general election. She has stood in every local election in the city more or less every year ever since. In the mid noughties she finally achieved her aim and won seats on Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council, serving for 7 and 12 years respectively. She even became the 100th Lord Mayor of the City in 2010.
Eve was a dedicated Conservative and without her, at times, the whole Conservative organisation in Norwich South might have collapsed. She gave her time, money and much of her life to the Conservative cause. She died this week at the age of 76.
